Flat Creek Estate's Super Texan won Double Gold at the San Francisco International Wine Competition back in 2003, a first for a Texas red wine. This provided a launching pad for Flat Creek Estate's wines and brought a lot of positive attention to the Texas wine industry. Following the style of a Super Tuscan it is predominately Sangiovese, with Caberbet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Syrah in the blend.
Lots of dark cherry and spice on the nose; On the palate it starts with blueberry and blackberry, followed by some oakiness and spice, dark fruit and more spice on the finish. Medium body, medium-plus tannins, and acidity. 13.7% ABV.
