Composition: Blanc Du Bois, Muscat Canelli, and Viognier; from the Texas High Plains and East Texas
Price: $14 at Lewis Wines in Johnson City
Notes: Grapefruit on the nose and on initial taste, followed by honeydew melon and lingering minerality. Bright acidity, lighter body and some effervescence makes it a food friendly and enjoyable easy drinker. Swim Spot is a good example of how Texas wineries are closing the quality/price gap with wines from more established wine regions. I'd put this wine against any California Sauvignon Blancs at this price point.
