Landon Winery - McKinney

Visit: February 2016

Landon's location in McKinney, right on the square

Since we had the opportunity to meet Bob Landon at the Texas Wine Festival in Tomball last fall we've been looking forward to visiting one of Landon Winery's locations.  We were in Frisco for the 2016 TWGGA Conference, so we decided to make the short drive to McKinney to try more of Landon's wines.

We visited late on a Saturday afternoon, and it was a happening place, plenty of folks enjoying wine and company.  It's a great location right on the square in McKinney.  Tastings are done at the bar and are $8 for 5 selections from their expansive list of wines.  I'm a fan of the Tempranillo, the Cab Reserve, and the Meritage.

There are plenty of good restaurants in McKinney, so make time for a meal if you visit.  We had an excellent dinner at Harvest, which is less than a block away from Landon's tasting room.  Harvest features locally sourced foods, plenty of Texas beers, and even some Texas wines.
