Lewis Wines - 2011 Texas Red Wine
Composition: 56% Mourvedre, 26% Tempranillo, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc
Price: Around $26 at Lewis Wines in the Spring of 2015.
Notes: This one has of earthiness from the Mourvedre, a grape we're happily seeing a lot more of in Texas. I picked up some notes of cherry from the Tempranillo after it had a little time to open up. It's lighter in color, and has medium body and tannins. Overall a very nice wine, another fine example of how Lewis Wines is producing wines that favorably compare to some of the best in the state.
