Lewis Wines

Lewis Wines
Johnson City, TX

Visits: September 2016, March 2016, May 2015, and July 2014

I've really enjoyed watching Lewis Wines grow over the past few years.  They use only Texas grapes, and work very closely with their growers.  They are always planting more vines on their property, giving them an opportunity to experiment with quite a few grape varieties in the future.  Lewis Wines  puts a lot of thought into letting the terrior show in their wines.

The tastings are by appointment only, but it’s always been an easy phone call to make the appointment.  Their production runs are small, which gives guests the opportunity to try several new wines with each visit.  It also means that if you try something you like, it's best to pick up a bottle before it's gone.  Year to year their Texas Red Wine blend continues to be one of my favorite Texas wines and is an excellent buy at around $26.  Tastings are $15, and the fee is waived with a 2 bottle purchase.  That's an easy thing to accomplish here.
