Duchman Winery’s location in Driftwood makes a visit an easy
jaunt from Austin. Duchman uses only
Texas grapes and has a slant towards Italian varietals but they make nice wines
with Rhone and Spanish varietals as well.
The winery shares a building with the tasting room, and lots of interior
windows give good views of the operational parts of the winery giving a good
view of how they make their wine.
Duchman distributes pretty widely throughout Texas, so it is fairly easy
to find a new favorite at a wine merchant that features Texas wines. If we had to pick a favorite here, it would
be their Montepulciano.
