Becker Vineyards

Stonewall, TX

Visits: May 2015, and July 2014

Becker Vineyards is one of the bigger names in Texas wines.  The main building at their estate is built in the style of a 19th century German stone barn.  It features a large tasting room with high ceilings and a gift shop.  Among their estate vineyards is a lavender field, making for an overall scenic setting.

For tastings, you purchase your tasting first and receive tasting tickets that can be used at one of the tasting bars.  They have many of their wines available for tasting, so there is opportunity to explore their wide portfolio.  Becker sources grapes from their own vineyards, from other Texas growers, and from outside of the state.  Be sure to check labels if you’re interested grape sourcing location.  I like their Praire Rotie, a Rhone-style blend with the Texas Hill Country AVA designation.
